Easy Potatoes – Chips, Wedges or Slices
Your in a rush and you can be bothered but you want a warm healthy tea. Well here is my potato hack when I cannot be bothered. This can be used to make chips, wedges or potato slices. It uses fewer pots and requires less time in the kitchen. All you need to do is to decide you potato shape. Or if you fancy you can use my hack to make your own oven chips and even jacket potatoes to skip this in the future.
Method
- Chop your potatoes into your required shape
- Add to a bowl and toss with oil and a pinch of salt
- Cover the bowl or transfer potatoes to a microwavable dish
- Microwave for 5 minutes and give them a gentle shake.
- Preheat your oven to 200-220C depending if fan and temperament of oven .
- Microwave the potatoes again for 5 minutes.
- Place in an oven dish or baking tray with parchment paper and add a dash or spray of oil
- Place potatoes on tray add spices now if wanted.
- Pop in the oven for 25-30 minutes. Check on them half way through and give them a shake or flip.
Tip – I use parchment or baking paper as it stops the poatoes sticking. I find foil a nightmare for sticking.
Some of the spices and herbs I like are garlic salt, smokey paprika, rosemary and thyme. The best item to add 10 minutes before the potatoes finish cooking … grated parmesan.
